From 10 to 14 March, the Senate of the Republic of Mexico will host the Transparency and Open Parliament Week - From access to information to open government. The meeting purpose is to generate interest on the advances and challenges related to transparency and open parliament, as well as promoting dialogue between various stakeholders about pending themes on the transparency and open parliament agenda.

Oct 23, 2013 - RIPALC´s Executive Committee approves more flexible rules for theme communities
The Executive Committee authorized the network´s Secretariat to create more flexible theme communities, with the participation of servants from all the parliaments of the region, whether this parliaments belong or not to RIPALC. The Secretariat will also be able to invite specialists from other region´s parliaments to share experiences and knowledge.
Oct 10, 2013 - RIPALC co-organizes events in the Parliament of Uruguay
Between October 22th and 25th, the Parliament of Uruguay will host two important events in the ambit of the Exchange Network of Parliaments of Latin America and the Caribbean – RIPALC. One of them is the 1st Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Network. The other is the Regional Workshop on ICT Strategic Planning and Use of Social Media in Parliaments.

The questionnaire was sent to all groups that belong to the institution and to the Secretaries General of non-members Parliaments. The IPU expected the official participation of all. The new data will be included in the database PARLINE and a thorough analysis of the situation and official worldwide will be published in the second half of 2013.

May 29, 2012 - RIPALC will be the subject of speeches in international events
During this week, the RIPALC will be the subject of two international events. One of them is the regional workshop of Caribbean Countries “The Impact of New Technologies in the Transformation of the Legislative Branch: From Awareness to Action”, which will take place in Barbados. The other event is the First Meeting of the Parliamentary Libraries of the South Cone, which will take place in Argentina.

Sep 26, 2011 - UK parliamentary network invites to Conference
The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK (CPA UK) will host the first International Parliamentary Conference on the Millennium Development Goals. The event will take place at the Houses of Parliament, London, between November 28 to 2 December 2011, and is unique to MPs.
Aug 13, 2011 - ENPLAC is presented at IFLA's pre-Conference
The Director of RIPALC’s Secretariat presented issues concerning the network’s organizational chart and governance, as well as the events which led to its creation and current status. Adolfo Furtado also highlighted the main challenges RIPALC will face in the short and medium run. The event took place in Puerto Rico’s Legislative Assembly, between August 13 and 15.

The creation of the Exchange Network of Parliaments of Latin America and the Caribbean (ENPLAC) and its recent developments will be presented by its Director of the Secretariat, Adolfo Furtado. The panels take place on 13th and 15th of this month during the pre-conference of IFLA's Section of Libraries and Research Services for Parliaments.

Letters were sent to the members of ENPLAC requesting that they appoint their Correspondents and complete a form with data from the Legislative House and its members. Each parliament will have a Correspondent and a Deputy Correspondent, who will be the link between parliament and the other members of the network.
