IPU conducts research on salary of parliamentarians

The questionnaire was sent to all groups that belong to the institution and to the Secretaries General of non-members Parliaments. The IPU expected the official participation of all. The new data will be included in the database PARLINE and a thorough analysis of the situation and official worldwide will be published in the second half of 2013.

RIPALC will be the subject of speeches in international events

During this week, the RIPALC will be the subject of two international events. One of them is the regional workshop of Caribbean Countries “The Impact of New Technologies in the Transformation of the Legislative Branch: From Awareness to Action”, which will take place in Barbados. The other event is the First Meeting of the Parliamentary Libraries of the South Cone, which will take place in Argentina.

UK parliamentary network invites to Conference

The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK (CPA UK) will host the first International Parliamentary Conference on the Millennium Development Goals. The event will take place at the Houses of Parliament, London, between November 28 to 2 December 2011, and is unique to MPs.

ENPLAC is presented at IFLA's pre-Conference

The Director of RIPALC’s Secretariat presented issues concerning the network’s organizational chart and governance, as well as the events which led to its creation and current status. Adolfo Furtado also highlighted the main challenges RIPALC will face in the short and medium run. The event took place in Puerto Rico’s Legislative Assembly, between August 13 and 15.

The creation of the Exchange Network of Parliaments of Latin America and the Caribbean (ENPLAC) and its recent developments will be presented by its Director of the Secretariat, Adolfo Furtado. The panels take place on 13th and 15th of this month during the pre-conference of IFLA's Section of Libraries and Research Services for Parliaments.

Secretariat of ENPLAC asks for appointment of the Correspondents

Letters were sent to the members of ENPLAC requesting that they appoint their Correspondents and complete a form with data from the Legislative House and its members. Each parliament will have a Correspondent and a Deputy Correspondent, who will be the link between parliament and the other members of the network.
